Called to consider Egger planning application 20080948 for new chipboard processing facility
Present: Councillors Elaine Rodger (in chair) and Mark Baxter. Clerk Bill Grigg. Some 20 parishioners including: Amanda Odd, Pat Crompton, Fay Winkworth, Ian Winkworth, Alan Armstrong, Nora Wallace, Peter Rodger, Hugh Dixon, Jill Dixon, Cathy Duncan, Andrew Duncan, Jennie Thorp, Tony Nicholson, Lesley Lofthouse, Laurence Hogarth, Margaret Hogarth, John Halliday, Mark Patridge, Suzanne Partridge
The Chair invited parishioners to make comments on the application.
John Halliday put forward the grounds for objection agreed at a public meeting at The Rat on 27 October, when residents also agreed to contribute to a fund to pay for a legal opinion from an expert planning lawyer about the best grounds for objection, and requested that Sandhoe Parish Council register an objection to the application. Additional points were made by many of those present in support of objection. There was no support expressed for the application.
The two Councillors present concurred with the views expressed and agreed that, subject to any further comment from other councillors, the Council would object to the proposal. Councillor Rodger undertook to submit a one-page summary of the objections in her individual councillor’s comments to TDC.
