Tynedale District Council launches consultation period for Operating Permit
9th January 2008
At 6pm this evening, Tynedale Council's Environment Officer, Nick Barrett launched the consultation period for Egger's Operating Permit. Tomorrow (10th January) the Permit document will be available for inspection at Hadrian House, Hexham or for download from the Sandhoe Community web site.
It is important that residents of Oakwood and Anick (and other parts of Hexham) take time to read this document and comment on it during the consultation period. Once the Council has approved the Permit, Egger will be able to work within the constraints laid down in the document. Equally, the document is a powerful tool for ensuring that Egger allow their neighbours to live a relatively quiet life and get a good nights sleep. That's why it is essential that the constraints of the Permit match the needs of residents of this community.
Tomorrow we'll be publishing an account of the launch together with notes of an interesting meeting between members of the Sandhoe Community and senior Egger directors which took place after the launch.
