Latest Egger applications

A special meeting of Sandhoe Parish Council was called on 30 October to discuss the application to build a new shed.  Disappointingly, only 2 councillors turned up, but the community was well represented and given a generous opportunity to voice their views.  The Council engaged fully in the discussion.

There was an extra-ordinary meeting of the Sandhoe Parish Council on Tuesday 26 August at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall in Corbridge The Parish Council called this meeting in response to residents' concerns about yet another planning application from Egger.  The meeting was attended by 2 councillors and seven or eight residents.  The application was discussed at some length and it was generally felt that it presents no significantly contentious issues other than that of development "creep".  There was some further discussion about the possible development published in last week's Courant and it was agreed that no real action could be taken until more details emerged.  The Sandhoe Community (particularly those of us in Oakwood and Anick) plans to learn as much as possible about it and to make our voices heard before the application goes to the Planning Committee on 6 September.

Corbridge Parish Council discussed the internal development application on 27 August and a brief report can be seen here.

At last... a community web site, created expressly for residents of the parish of Sandhoe in Northumberland, a rural area a couple of miles to the north of Hexham. There are 3 main centres of population; Anick, Oakwood and Sandhoe and a small cluster of dwellings at Beaufront Woodhead, close to the school.

In this online community, you'll find information about Sandhoe places, Sandhoe people and the issues that concern them.  We'll also tell you something about the activities of the Parish Council, so keep coming back if you want to keep in touch.

Many of the pages in the Sandhoe Community are public and are there to be enjoyed by all. A few pages are intended to be for residents and those affected by particular issues and events in the parish and you will need to register before you can see them.

If you would like to register and be able to view the less public pages, please send an email to the Sandhoe Community.
